Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is the ministry of care provided by priests, religious leaders and lay people to members of our parish community. It is an expression of our commitment to the teachings of the church and a response to Christ’s command 'Love One Another'. Each of us is called to be a ‘care-giver’.

Please tick your areas of expertise and interest on the “flick and tick” form when you receive it.  More information and the name and phone number of the contact person for each group is available from the Parish Office.

Pastoral Care Group

The Parish Care Group is a dedicated group of men and women who organise visitation and Holy Communion for those within our community who are sick or lonely, after hospitalisation and transport for those without a means to attend Mass. Providing these services to members of our parish community helps to promote a strong sense of community and belonging to the Parish.

BUPA

BUPA an Aged Care Facility is situated in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and members of our BUPA team visit and provide Liturgy of the Word on the first Thursday of each month. They arrange for the residents to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick twice a year.

Casserole Club

The Casserole Club provides meals and baking to families/individuals in times of need/crisis i.e.; family death, sickness or birth of a new baby. Volunteers in this group cook meals or provide baked goodies to be delivered to those in need. Volunteers are always welcomed to this club.

Consolation Group

Consolation Group members assist bereaved families to plan the funeral liturgy for their deceased loved one. The team meets with the family at the presbytery to help them select the prayers, hymns and scripture readings from the Order of Christian Funerals and attend the funeral to assist the celebrant and family as required. It is a privilege for members of the consolation team to assist families at this time.

St Vincent de Paul Society

St Vincent de Paul Society meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 4:00pm in the Quiet Room at the Church. The Our Lady of Lourdes Conference consists of a group of committed volunteers who live out their faith by visiting and assisting those in need, providing them with spiritual and financial assistance. Members attend regular meetings that include prayer, reflection and discussion. The Conference assists overseas Twins (Conferences) and works with the Mini Vinnies at school. The membership of those who serve in our Conference ranges from 2 years to 35 years. If you wish to put your faith into action we encourage you to join. We really need your help.
